My Strongest Self

A journey in weight loss, self-discovery and learning to love myself more every day.

The best personal trainer in Cardiff? Or just a big donut?

Week 43: Monday 1st November - Sunday 7th November 2021

I mentioned last week that my PT is a sadist. Well, this week I find out that he's also a big donut.

On Tuesday morning I'm rushing to get to my 8.30am session and I message my PT as I'm leaving.

"Running about 5 mins late. Sorry! Will cycle really, really fast!!"

No reply.

I arrive, exhausted from my really, really fast bike ride, to find that there's no sign of him.

I try to call. There's no answer.

Eventually I realise that he isn't coming so I cycle back home.

The journey isn't a complete waste of time, as I do get to see my favourite group of ducks and swans on the ride back.

Once I'm home, I spend the next few hours getting on with my work - but there's just a small, lingering bit of worry at the back of my mind.

What if something bad happened? Or he died?

I mean, he probably didn't die. But just in case, I don't really want to have to find myself a new personal trainer...

Several hours later my phone pings.

"Oooops! I messed up! What a plonker. Got the time wrong. I'm such a donut!"

Well, at least he's not dead. I'm glad about that.

But now, in addition to being a sadist, he is, by his own admission, also a very big donut.

The best personal trainer in Cardiff

Despite his lack of a brain, being a big donut and having many sadistic tendencies, he's actually an amazing personal trainer.

His website says, "I make sure I give every single client 100% all I ask for in return is for you to be as invested in your goals as I am."

Throughout all of my personal training sessions that has always felt true (well, apart from this last one where he didn't turn up).

So if you're looking for a personal trainer in Cardiff, who genuinely does care as much as you do, about helping you to reach your goals, then I'd recommend Toby King of TK-Fitness.
