If you've never had a Ben's Cookie before then I would highly recommend them as an occasional treat. They are simply the best cookies ever!
It is now just over 6 months I started my weight loss journey back in January. It seems like a good time to check in again on my progress.
For Wednesday's gym session I'm introduced to something new. It is a very high up bar that I have to grab onto and dangle from.
It turns out that getting rid of loads of clothes in favour of a more minimalist approach has a name - it's called creating a capsule wardrobe.
On Monday morning I step onto the scales, as I do every morning, to find that finally I have hit 15 kilos of weight loss - in just under 6 months!
Instead of dealing with shadow work we're now celebrating abundance, practicing gratitude and working on creating a balanced flow between the giving and receiving of things.
As I start the shadow work journaling exercise, my first thought is, "I don't have any shadows!" "I'm a nice person!"
For hundreds of years people have believed that the moon has the power to affect our lives and our behaviour.
Regardless of whether you believe in the power of this ritual, it is definitely really really fun to do. It involves playing with fire - and anything that involves playing with fire is fun!
One of the best things about going to the gym is definitely not the gym itself, but instead the fact that there is a nature reserve just a few minutes walk away.
On Monday morning I step on the scales to find that those sweet treats from the weekend have finally caught up with me.
I find myself overcome with the desire to go wild and indulge in something that I know I'm not supposed to. I've been so good for such a long time.
I arrive at the gym, feeling fearful when I think back to his, "You'll make up for it on Wednesday!" comment from last week. What is he going to put me through today?
You would think he'd let me have a break - just for one week. But no. He's completely relentless and has set me three gruelling homework sessions to fit in during my time away.
I would love to have a personal chef. Sadly, I don't have a personal chef, nor am I ever likely to have a personal chef. So I've gone for the next best thing - a Mindful Chef weekly recipe box.
I end the week weighing in at 67.3kg. This means I've now lost just over 10kg in three and a half months.
I've been getting a bit obsessed with yoga recently. It all started in week 7 - the week where I failed to do press-ups.
"Ewwwwwgh!!!" I exclaim." Sorry," said the monster. "I just don't want you to think I'm being a wimp."
3 months have now passed since I started my weight loss journey, so it seems a good time to check in on how much progress I'm making.
"Harder, Lisa! Faster Lisa!" shouts my PT. "Think of someone who really annoys you, and imagine you're punching them!"
This week starts with an energetic spring-cleaning of the house and garden. It involves a lot of bending, stretching, reaching and lifting. Hoovering, scrubbing, washing, wiping and dusting.
This week starts with a bang. My PT has set me a killer of a workout to do for Monday's 'homework'. It contains all of the things I hate the most.
I have now completed eight full weeks of my weight loss journey, so it seems like a good time to take a look at how much progress I've made so far.
I continue to feel energetic, awake and refreshed this week. I'm so grateful for that. Especially when I think back to how I was feeling in December.
